ABOUT

Phyang to Hunder Trek traces the historic Silk Route, journeying through the Indus and Nubra Valleys. This adventure allows you to deeply connect with nature, as you experience the solitude and untouched beauty of the wilderness. Along the way, you’ll encounter breathtaking landscapes and dramatic vistas. A highlight of the trek is reaching Lasermo La, where the awe-inspiring views of the Eastern Karakoram mountain range will make you feel like you’re standing on top of the world. This trek offers a unique blend of history, natural beauty, and a sense of solitude in the heart of the Himalayas

ITINERARY

Day 1: Leh to Murubok via phyang village

Wake up early and travel west of Leh, with a short stop at Spituk Monastery, where you can say a silent prayer. Continue your journey to Murubok village, passing through Phyang village and its monastery. Phyang is one of the largest inhabited villages in Ladakh, and its monastery belongs to the Drikung Kargyud school of Tibetan Buddhism. Overnight camp at Murubok (4000m).

Day 2: Murubok to Murubok Phu

This will be the first day of the trek. Although it is a short day in terms of walking, it is ideal for acclimatization. Begin your gradual trek to Phyang Phu. Overnight camp at Phyang Phu (4300m).

Day 3: Murubok Phu to South Base of Lasermo

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, followed by a gradual walk to the South Base Camp of Lasermo, which takes approximately 3 to 4 hours. You may be lucky enough to spot local wildlife, including ibex, marmots, and various types of birds. Overnight at the base camp (4900m).

Day 4: South Base Camp to Lasermo La to North Base Camp

Prepare for a long day of trekking, approximately 7 to 8 hours. Start early to cross
the Lasermo La pass(5450m) in full daylight. Along the way, take in the breathtaking views of mountain peaks, as well as the Indus and Shyok rivers, and the valley scenery of Sham and Nubra. Overnight at North Base Camp (4750m).

Day 5: North Base Camp to Sumdho Camp(4400m)

Today's trek is a gentle and pleasant walk along the river, following the downstream trail for about 4 hours. The path includes a few short ascents and descents, but overall it's an easy day. Upon reaching Sumdho Camp, a warm lunch will be served, allowing time to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Day 6: Sumdho Camp to Hunder Dok to Hundar Village (3100m)

Enjoy a light and easy walk through the valley of flowers and meadows, which
takes approximately 5 to 6hours. Follow a steady stream until you reach Hunder
Dok village, where you'll find some shepherd huts and perhaps see local animals
grazing in the fields. Overnight stay at Hunder Village.

Day 7: Hundar to Leh

Morning drive to Leh via Diskit Monastery and Khardong la Pass(5360m).

* Horses : horses for Rations & Supplies

EXCLUSION

* Personal trekking equipment – like Boots, trekking poles etc.

* Personal Travel Insurance or cost of Emergency Evacuation.

* Accommodation / Stays in Leh.

* Purchases of personal natures (like mineral water bottles/bottled or canned beverages/

chocolates/dry fruits etc.

* Cost of transport, meals and stay if in case you leave the trek in b/w and return to Leh

before the scheduled arrival.
