TRIP OVERVIEW

UT Kangri, rising to 6,080 meters, is a striking peak situated in the remote Shagrok Valley of eastern Ladakh. The journey to its summit is both challenging and rewarding, taking trekkers through rugged landscapes, untouched valleys, and dramatic mountain vistas. Though the climb is not highly technical, it becomes significantly more demanding during Ladakh’s harsh winter months, requiring proper mountaineering equipment such as ice tools, harnesses, crampons, ropes, ice screws, and snow bars, depending on the conditions. As a lesser-explored peak, Ut Kangri offers a sense of isolation and adventure rarely found on more popular routes. The full expedition typically takes around five days from Leh to the summit and back, making it an ideal choice for experienced trekkers seeking a short yet intense high-altitude challenge in one of Ladakh’s most striking regions.
