UT KANGRI

ABOUT

Ut Kangri is a prominent peak located in the Shagrok Valley in the eastern part of Ladakh. The trek to Ut Kangri is challenging and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Known for its rugged and beautiful terrain, it provides the opportunity to summit a relatively lesser-explored peak.

Climbing Ut Kangri (6080m) is particularly demanding, though not overly technical, especially during the harsh winter months in Ladakh. This ascent requires the use of mountaineering gear such as ice tools, harnesses, crampons, ropes, ice screws, snow bars, and other equipment, depending on the snow conditions.

On average, it takes 5 days to complete the trek from Leh to the summit and back.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Drive Leh - Rumste, Trek to Phu(4500m), 2 hrs.

Day 2: Trek to Shakrok(4900m) Phu 4-5hrs

Day 3: Trek Base Camp (5000m)3hrs

Day 4: Base Camp - Summit(6080m) -Base Camp, 10-12hrs

Day 5: Base Camp to Phu and Drive back to Leh.

INCLUSION

  • Personal trekking equipment – like Boots, trekking poles or sleeping bag liners
  • Personal insurance or cost of emergency evacuation
  • Purchases of personal natures (like mineral water bottles/bottled or canned beverages/chocolates/dry fruits etc
  • Transportation: airport pick-up and drop, drop and pick-up from trek
  • Cost of transport, meals and stay if in case you leave the trek in between and return to Leh before the schedule arrival
  • Anything not mentioned in the inclusions
